Tomography

Tomography is a technique used to reconstruct internal spatial details of the human body from planar images. Three dimensional (spatial) images address the limitations of planar images like two-dimensional X-ray photographs. Nuclear medicine use the gamma rays emitted by a radiopharmaceutical and detected by a device (gamma camera or PET) to perform such scans.
